During our recent family vacation, we chose to stay at Castle Lodge in Kilkenny, and it provided a suitable base for our exploration. The spacious room was comfortable, allowing us to unwind after a day of activities. A highlight of our stay was the delightful continental breakfast delivered in a picnic basket, which included warm croissants and fresh yogurt-perfect fuel for a day of adventures. Being a short walk from Kilkenny Castle and Smithwick's Brewery made sightseeing convenient. We particularly enjoyed the guided tour at Kilkenny Castle, where the kids connected with history, enriching their experience of Irish culture. Liam, our host, was instrumental in making our stay smooth. He was ready to assist with our car troubles and ensured we had information for nearby attractions, which made exploring easier for our family. The property is secure with a convenient key access, making it a worry-free environment for families. Although the TV was a bit high and the hairdryer cord short, these minor details did not overshadow the overall experience. Castle Lodge offers a welcoming environment for families seeking a relaxing yet engaging stay in Kilkenny.
